Defines for detecting build OS?

That page references %centos_version, but that doesn't appear to be  
defined on the CentOS 5 box I've got here.  Nothing in /etc/rpm or / 
usr/lib/rpm defines it, and a quick test in a spec file suggests that  
it isn't set.
