And might want to have the directory configurable separate from src.rpm creation (eg to create buildreq rpms into some tmp location but src.rpm's into the SRPMS for keeping)

Please no `/var/tmp`. It should be something which Mock cleans on every run and where it cannot be confused with some other files (consider if `foo.src.rpm` has `Name: bar`). I think `~/rpmbuild/SRPM/` would be nice. @ffesti your current code place it where?
