I clearly shouldn't have tempted fate.

4.16.1.1 managed to bump the wrong part of the libtool version, 
introducing an unintended soname bump. The tarball has been pulled out 
of distribution but anybody unfortunate enough to have grabbed it 
already: apologies for the disruption and inconvenience.

4.16.1.2 will follow up soon, and then I'll go on to make sure this 
never happens again. Clearly we're all so ready for the holidays...
