Alternate package implementation (how can I provide and conflict with the same package?)

Very nice tool, and packaged for Fedora so I was able to just "yum
install" it.  Now all I need to know is how to setup the meta-data to
make this work.

BTW: does messing with the meta-data invalidate the package signature?
