[Rpm-maint] [Patch 0/19] Red Hat RPM patch merge

I've picked out bugfixes and small enhancements from the Red Hat and
Fedora SRPM for merging.  The source of these fixes varies from pulls
from Jeff's tree, patches in bugzilla from numerous sources (mls, James
Oden Odin, pzb) and work done at Red Hat.

The aim is to get to a solid buildable base that merges small fixes from
the OpenSuSE/Novell tree and our tree and release an incremental version
such as 4.4.2.1 to reduce patch overhead. Larger features from both
trees will be discussed for consideration.

These should all be straightforward, I'm posting here for comments and
I'll commit on Wednesday should all be fine, or revise and resend.
