Hohum :) Those tests are *ancient*, from rpm 3.0.x days mostly and long 
unused. It's mostly surprising that any of them worked at all. I had a 
quick look at the stuff and it would take more effort than it's worth to 
fix those tests. 4.4.2.1 will have the busted old tests disabled, running 
broken tests does little good to anybody.

James Olin Oden has done a far more useful looking "test-harness" for rpm, 
we'll probably want to look at that instead of dusting the old tests/ 
contents in the future.
