@AdamWill: If python setup tools and egg-info is actually using Name: strings rather than verifying the a rurally dependency semantic (which is a directory from which a module can be loaded),  I'd professional suggest that python eggs are (in the case of C "libraries" as you have chosen to call bindings) rather deficient.

My previous reply -- lost to wifi -- was much sharper and blunter. I did not (and would not and have not) made the change, cannot undo what others have done, and find it difficult to listen to posturing about *two* applications (that are explicitly known) with innuendos that I am clueless or ignorant. Adjust you public behavior as you wish.
