Patch application is not affected in any way.  You can use whatever you like, although it'd take a special kind of madness to prefer %patch0, %patch1, %patch2... over %autosetup. Like with numberless Patch and Source, they're simply autonumbered starting from 0.

I specifically do not want any extended syntax, and it's also intentionally *not* exposed via API as its own section, it's just a more convenient way to add sources/patches, nothing more nothing less. Comments are allowed in the sections of course. Comments at end of line might be nice here, but adding support for them would be a generic spec-level thing and not specific to these sections.

New Lua magic is not added and discussing it is out of scope, but for a short summary: that way madness lies, just say no.
