I fail to see what exactly you're trying to prove there.

As I said initially, with queries, --root does not actually perform a chroot at all, it just prepends the root path to the dbpath. This has various consequences. Also, in no mode does --root read configuration from inside the specified root, so there's zero guarantee of it working (the thing in --root could be using a different db path, different db backend, incompatible rpm version whatever).
