Right. So since that appears to be the right thing to do, lets just forget about the subkeys then. Simplifies things that little bit more.

The only form subkeys are visible currently now are gpg(keyid) provides in gpg-pubkey packages, and I think very very very few people on this planet know that, much less use them.
