FWIW, the `_` vs `*` stuff in your fixup - I initially wanted to change all our man-pages to use underlines where appropriate instead of bold everywhere, but after realizing what a mutha of a job this is, decided to leave that job till later time. And apparently forgot to revert some of the early conversion. So good spotting.

I'll have a look at the empty line thing. I didn't notice it at all, but indeed that's not how man pages are supposed to be formatted. Must be a side-effect from the earlier conversion.
