There seems to be exactly zero interest on this topic.

As such, it's probably just best to let these things out of their misery. The #define'd aliases are irrepairably broken so maybe the best thing is to just drop them, and leave the rest alone. We have no way of knowing whether somebody actually uses these things except to break it.
