Thanks for the quick response! I was not aware that `RPMVERSION` is expected to be present in all packages. In my case, I have not encountered any issues with the missing tag on RPM 4.x.x, so there was no indication that it was required. I would have expected `RPMFORMAT` to be sufficient to describe the package format.

Could you clarify what value should be set for `RPMVERSION` when a package is built by a third-party tool that is not rpm itself? Is there a recommended placeholder value?
