Okay, I've just tried removing a symbol from a version file: What happens is that the symbol then gets matched by the `local: *` glob, and so is not exported at all and linking fails (if the symbol is actually used somewhere else). So I guess that's a good enough assurance against such forgotten symbols :laughing:
