Yet another idea could be documenting it in the DEPENDENCIES section from the angle that if you for whatever reason need to create these dependencies, use this with the -b option instead of rolling your own. And then briefly mention the non-native use option in PORTABILITY maybe.

My main regret is the macro name, something like encode_sysuser would've been much saner. Names, oh names :facepalm:
